NASS Media: Attributing to NASS

The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) would like to remind the public and members of the media that statements made by individual Secretaries of State do not reflect NASS positions, unless otherwise indicated. It is important for a Secretary to be able to speak on behalf of their office and constituents in their position as a state official, but Secretaries will make clear when they are speaking on behalf of the association.

All of NASS’s positions, resolutions and press releases are listed on our website. Section 8 of the NASS bylaws clearly states the process by which the positions are decided by the membership.

If there are any questions about NASS’s policies or views, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly at 202-624-3525.
