NASS Task Force on the Disposition of EAC Duties

About the Task Force

The Task Force on the Disposition of EAC Duties was formed to examine viable, alternative approaches to carrying out the core functions of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC), in the event that the agency is ultimately terminated.  In accordance with the language and the intent of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA), task force members are focused on the agency’s core functions, particularly those that are ongoing.  In addition to exploring the relative merits of continuing these functions, the group is tasked with identifying who might carry out the work in the absence of the EAC.
