| ABOUT THE NASS BUSINESS IDENTITY THEFT TASK FORCE |
The NASS Business Identity Theft Task Force, announced in April 2011, is a major association initiative aimed at combating the spread of business identity theft through the development of practical, cost-effective tools and guidance for states. In October 2011, the Task Force hosted a first-of-its NASS Business Identity Theft Forum to discuss business identity theft assistance, prevention, and detection strategies for state policymakers. The roundtable discussions, attended by Secretaries of State and state business division directors from more than 20 states, brought together top experts in government, business, and industry. As a result of forum discussions, NASS was able to identify best practices and effective solutions for state government, which are outlined in a new white paper being released at the end of January 2012.
