2016 NASS Member Election Results

On November 8, 2016, Secretary of State elections were held in 8 states. In Maine and New Hampshire, the legislature will elect a Secretary of State in December 2016.  Below are the results for each state, as available via unofficial results posted to state election office websites. Unless noted otherwise, these members will serve a four-year term beginning in January 2017.

**NOTE: Lemanu Mauga and Spencer Cox are Lieutenant Governors. American Samoa and Utah do not have a Secretary of State position.


Secretary of State Appointment Results

Two states where the Secretary of State is selected by gubernatorial appointment were also affected by the voting on November 8. Results are as follows:
